Steffani Jemison
Steffani Jemison (first-year resident) received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009 and her BA from Columbia University in 2003. She was a resident at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2008. Her work has been exhibited and screened at Eel Space, Chicago, IL; Sullivan Galleries, Chicago, IL; Scott Projects, Chicago, IL; UCLA Wight Biennial, Los Angeles, CA; Institute of Contemporary Art, London; Union Docs, New York, NY; University of Chicago; and Penrose Gallery, Elkins Park, PA. Steffani has curated time-based programs and gallery exhibitions for many venues, including Light Industry, New York, NY; the Museum of Arts and Design New York, NY; Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York, NY; the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, New York, NY; and ABC No Rio New York, NY. Steffani has published her writing in Planet, Dirtypop, Bitch, Black Book, and Paper Monument. She has participated in lectures and panel discussions hosted by the University of Chicago, Idealist.org, Amnesty International, and Theaters Against War.
